Mr. Jameson has 34 years of professional experience with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Goddard Space Flight Center and the United States Air Force managing engineering and operations, including 24 years of suborbital and orbital launch and range management experience, as well as space systems operations and 10 additional years in communications electronics. He comes from Wallops Flight Facility where he was the Deputy Director, overseeing the the Suborbital and Special Orbital Projects Directorate (SSOPD) and managing the Sounding Rocket, Balloon, Aircraft, SmallSat and Research Range programs. Mr. Jameson oversaw the safe and successful execution of SSOPD projects, ensuring sound management and engineering practices leading to program success.
Mr. Jameson is an accomplished leader skilled with experience managing a multifaceted organization of 1,000+ personnel and assets over $1.5 billion. He is a dynamic partnership builder, public servant, and agent for positive change. He managed a $300+ million budget and has a proven record of solving challenges with innovative, cost-effective solutions to ensure mission success for government and commercial space customers. Mr. Jameson previously served as Chief (2017-19) and Deputy Chief (2013-17) of the Launch Range at NASA Wallops Flight Facility, leading launch range services for resupply to the International Space Station and government, commercial and university science missions as well as manned and unmanned aeronautical operations.
Mr. Jameson retired from the Air Force in 2010 following a career that culminated as the Chief of Launch and Range Requirements at Air Force Space Command. His career was split between service in both the enlisted and officer corps. He has extensive experience in ICBM operations and space launch, leading range operations for several missions from Vandenberg AFB, including Delta II, Delta IV, Minuteman III, Pegasus, and Missile Defense Agency interceptors. While leading range operations, he oversaw the Combat Mission Ready training program for team personnel. He was awarded an appointment to the Air Force Institute of Technology, where he obtained his Master’s degree in Space Operations Engineering as a Distinguished Graduate. During his service time, Mr. Jameson deployed to support expeditionary forces operations in Somalia, Haiti and Bosnia, as well as other locations around the globe.
