Supporting NASA Mission Development from Concept to On-Orbit Operations

Mechanical Systems Analysis and Simulation capabilities support the development of NASA missions through load development, mechanical analysis, structural optimization, and structural verification of spaceflight systems.  We provide analysis and subject matter expertise and products ranging from requirements formulation to verification in the disciplines of structural loads, environments, jitter, kinematic simulation, stress, thermomechanical, optomechanical, trade studies, optimization, integrated modeling, analysis and flight testing, from component to system level of assembly.  The Mechanical Systems Analysis & Simulation teams also provide structural leadership through all phases of mission development from proposals through flight system testing and verification as well as on-orbit operations.

Mechanical Systems Analysis & Simulation is managed by ETD’s Mechanical Systems Division (MSD). Contact MSD for more information.

ABOUT ETD

The Engineering & Technology Directorate at Goddard designs missions, builds satellites and instruments, operates and controls spacecrafts, and acquires/distributes data to the world-wide science community. ETD data products are used to conduct research in Earth and Space Sciences that benefit both the nation and the world.
