Flight Data Systems
Delivering Cutting-Edge Engineering Services for NASA Missions, Advancing Digital Electronics and Emerging Technologies
Flight Data Systems provides end-to-end flight data systems engineering services, enabling both in-house and out-of-house missions at NASA.
We develop a wide range of hardware components in support of flight projects. Components are comprised of circuit card assemblies and/or complex programmable digital logic elements that, together with other engineering discipline components, form a standalone subsystem, such as a Command and Data Handling (C&DH) subsystem or Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
We also advance new technologies or implementation of emerging technologies for flight data systems applications. The group provides experienced discipline support that spans a broad area of technical subjects including architecting, design, verification, and analysis (signal integrity, power integrity, etc.) that covers digital and analog electronics as well as knowledge of key component technologies such as processors and programmable logic devices such as Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs).
Finally, we provide management of the development and design of novel and unusually complex technology, equipment, or systems that impact national or international programs resulting in major advancement in the state-of-the-art of digital electronics.
