Thermal Technology Development and Demonstration (T2D2) Facility
Where Thermal Vacuum Testing Meets Precision Control and Data Innovation
The Thermal Technology Development and Demonstration (T2D2) Facility serves as a comprehensive hub for research in both thermal and non-thermal technologies. It specializes in the thermal vacuum qualification of electronics and structures, bakeout processes for various cleanliness levels, and provides support for thermal hardware integration. T2D2 also possesses expertise in developing thermal Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for a wide range of ground testing applications.
In addition to its thermal testing capabilities, T2D2 can design and build data monitoring systems and precision heater control racks. These systems are capable of interfacing with a variety of thermal sensors, including thermocouples, thermistors, PRTs, and diodes.
The facility houses seven thermal chambers, offering a broad range of temperature control capabilities. Other resources at T2D2 include ESD-safe workbenches, two air ovens, various circulators (chillers), orbital welding equipment, a mobile electronics rack, and a solar simulator.
