Frank Whitworth

NCSC Deputy Chair

Frank Whitworth is the Gateway Production Software Deputy Lead at Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, TX. He graduated from Wake Forest University and is a current Graduate student at Georgia Tech. Frank started his NASA tenure at Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) working on Geodetic Satellite Laser Ranging. There, he worked on operational systems development and integration on both satellite and lunar laser ranging. After his time at GSFC, Frank then transferred to JSC to start a career in human spaceflight.

Frank developed the command and telemetry routing flight software application for NASA’s Lunar Gateway vehicle, before taking on the integration lead for GSFC and JSC flight software development. Frank’s work surrounds the integration of flight software into massive vehicle systems within Gateway. Now, he is the Deputy Lead for Gateway Production Software, including the central suite of cFS applications, the Vehicle Systems Manager, Gateway Data Services, and the Power and Propulsion Element Module System Manager.
