Partnering with Industry
In-space Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing (ISAM)
Building Strategic Partnerships
For decades, we have led the way for innovative ISAM solutions and ambitious servicing missions to become the go-to resource for government agencies, industry, and academia seeking expertise, partnerships, and a proven path forward in servicing, assembly, and manufacturing in space.
By strategically partnering with industry and academia, NASA multiplies its impact, accelerates the development of transformative technologies, and strengthens the foundation for a sustainable, collaborative future in space.

How to Collaborate
ISAM Technology Catalog
Whether you’re looking to start a new company, enhance an existing product, or create a new product line, you can gain a competitive edge in the marketplace by putting NASA technology to work for you.
The full version of the ISAM Technology Catalog is available to domestic companies by contacting Patty Manalansan at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, who controls the release of the catalog. An NDA is required as the catalog contains export controlled technical data.
Small Business Innovation Research / Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR)
Through this program, entrepreneurs, startups, and small businesses with less than 500 employees can receive funding and non-monetary support to build, mature, and commercialize their technologies, advancing NASA missions and helping solve important problems facing our country.
Goddard leads the ISAM subtopic and serves as Subject Matter Experts (SME) and Contracting Officer Representatives (COR) to guide industry investments & share lessons learned. Our SME’s serve as technical mentors and look for every opportunity to infuse Goddard’s proven solutions.
Space Act Agreements (SAA)
Space Act Agreements support industry’s development of commercial solutions for ISAM by providing access to NASA’s technical expertise and unique test infrastructure and methodologies.
We use these agreements to establish intimate partnerships with companies to advance their specific ground-test needs in order to accelerate their spaceflight objectives.
Announcement of Collaboration Opportunity (ACO)
The Announcement of Collaboration Opportunity (ACO), managed by the Space Technology Mission Directorate, enables valuable collaboration without financial exchanges between NASA and industry partners. Instead, companies leverage NASA Subject Matter Experts (SME), facilities, software, and hardware to accelerate their technologies and prepare them for future commercial and government use in the ISAM ecosystem.
