Providing Practical Training and the Transfer of Decades of Lessons-Learned

Starting in 2021, NASA Goddard’s Flight Data Systems & Radiation Effects team has collaboratively hosted a popular, hands-on workshop at the Texas A&M University Cyclotron Institute. The program seeks attendees from government, industry (especially “new space”), and academia to provide both practical training and the transfer of decades of lessons-learned from those with experience to the next generation of end users. Presenters from Goddard, NASA JPL, and industry partners, along with our hosts at Texas A&M, spend a week testing alongside the attendees in an effort to improve the quality of radiation testing performed across the field, reduce the occurrence of preventable downtime, and better assure the work performed by our day-to-day project partners.

ABOUT ETD

The Engineering & Technology Directorate at Goddard designs missions, builds satellites and instruments, operates and controls spacecrafts, and acquires/distributes data to the world-wide science community. ETD data products are used to conduct research in Earth and Space Sciences that benefit both the nation and the world.
